Volpaia Castle

Walking on old stone paving, circle the village and walk throught at least two wonderful little tunnels. Throught many of the castle's walls have long since been cannon-balled away the atmosphere of a tough medieval castle can be sensed in Volpaia's tower (near Radda in Chianti and Il Paggino apartments), strong stone building, and the safepassageways over street. Leaving Volpaia, you have two choices. One is to drive right up throught Volpaia village and into the winding gravel road that loops north throught dense forest or retrace your drive downhill and decide do go back pass Il Paggino apartments and Radda in Chianti town or visit La Fornace Campo al Sole.
