The medieval town of Radda in Chianti

It's possible to drive in a circle around the histori section, then stop at any blue parking sign. There is also a parking near the post office; stairs bring you up to the centre. Radda in Chianti offers breathtaking bird's-eye views of the Chianti landscape. You will see working farms sorrounded by their well-tened vineyards. You will also see farmhouses and barns that have been converted into vacation spots, with swimming pools for visitors to this promised land. One of them is Il Paggino house managed directly by the Owners Eleonora&Francesco, typical Tuscany farmhouse composed by six confortable apartments with swimming pool and garden. It's typical of the Chianti region that agricolture and tourism have archieved a symbiotic partnership. Across the stree yuo can see the tall monument honoring "The sacrifice of our fathers", looking acros the street you see the tower of this fortified town. In the 1200S Radda in Chianti became one of the three centres from which large sections of Tuscany were administered. Radda in Chianti town hall, Palazzo del Podestà was destryed in the Spanish invasion in 1478. The town hall was reconstrueted during the next three centuries. From central Radda in Chianti, drie northeast, over a narrow bridge, turn very right and pass under an arched bridge, pass Il Paggino farm house on the right and follow sign to Volpaia a beautiful terrace on the Tuscany landscape
